The sake’s naming is from our president’s family name, Kano.
Hon stands for head family and Masamune mens genuine one.
On 1332, Emperor Godaigo visited Mikage district in Kobe and then one of the ancestor of sake brewery made sake using special water from a spring called Sawanoi-spring and presented it to the emperor. He accepted it with pleasure and praise. Thus, the ancestor was given the family name of Kano which literally means “accepting with pleasure”.
